Pharmacy has changed significantly over the course of my career and it is increasingly becoming more and more patient facing. We have a far greater opportunity to help contribute to a joined up healthcare with the ability to supply a limited range of prescription medicines for certain conditions. In addition I've completed my independent prescribing degree and am able to treat a variety of common clinical conditions. Medication is supplied as per local HB formulary and all interventions and reported back to the patient's GP practice to ensure continuity of care.

Since gaining my independent prescribing qualification I have been able to help many patients that would otherwise have needed a GP appointment. I am happy to see anyone and offer advice and will treat where I can but it's important that I work within the confines of my competency.
